Unfortunately, Belle is heartworm positive. Before being placed into her forever home, she needs to undergo an expensive and lengthy treatment. Please consider making a donation, so that Belle can enjoy the healthy, long life she so much deserves after being pulled out of a kill shelter emaciated and frightened. Thank you.

We really could use any help to recoup these costs to our rescue so we can continue to help more dogs. Your donation is tax deductable!

BELLE
(Alabama)

The beautiful girl you see in these pictures is me, Belle. They call me so because my foster mommy says I’m a Hollywood beauty! She also says that I’m as beautiful inside as I am outside. I am 2 years old, and a big girl, but I have to tell you I am shy. Because of this, I don’t really like to deal with bossy girls or boys. I like other dogs, but I would like them to be as sweet as I am, even if they are much smaller than I am. I get along very well with little guys.

But even better than other dogs, I love people. All people…and children. They’re wonderful if they’re not too hard on me. My foster mommy says I am a love bug. Oh, I could love you sooo much! I even sing to you when you pet and play with me!

My foster mommy and daddy also say that I am so smart . If you think you want a big beautiful, delicate, very smart girl to be your loving baby forever, please call me.

NEVADA
(Georgia)

Nevada is a very loving 3 year old female. She was rescued from a local shelter here in GA. She is about 70 pounds and is a little underweight. She is presently in a foster home with cats, horses and other dogs. She gets along great with everyone but is a bit alpha so would do best in a home with smaller or more submissive dogs. She gets along great with people, including kids. She is housebroken and knows some basic obedience.

Nevada is undergoing heartworm treatment and needs donations for her vet bills which exceeded $650.

ANNIE
(Indiana)
Donations NEEDED!

Hi, my name is Annie. I have had a really rough start in life so far. I am almost 2 years old and I am already a mother. I was running the streets of Memphis, fighting for my own life, then I had to care for puppies too. I crawled under a porch to give birth. I was alone and so scared. Six pups were born, but by the time someone came to help me, I had lost 4 of them. My heart was broken. I've been starving and alone, and trying to feed my babies, and now the stress of losing 4 babies too made my hair fall out in many places.

I was taken to Memphis Animal Shelter and thought I was being saved. I was really scared and growled to protect the only babies I had left. They said that I was aggressive and unadoptable. They said the next day all 3 of us would be gassed.

Thank God someone saw me for the diamond in the rough I really am and contacted EDWSR. These other nice rescue people fought for me and all of a sudden I was on my way to Northwest Indiana. I had no idea what was going on.

Once I got here, I thought everything might be OK. My new mom was really nice to me and gave me all this great food to eat. She said I needed to gain a lot of weight. She said that 56 pounds was not nearly enough to stay healthy let alone feed my babies. Then I got really sick. My new mom thought I wasn’t going to make it. But after all EDWSR has done for me and my babies, I am determined to pull through. My momma says I'm the "sweetest girl she's ever met". I love her so much! She is good to me.

I got sicker. Really sick. My new "Mom" took me the ER for doggies. They did not know what was wrong with me. Shortly after I was taken to a different vet for an emergency spay. They said I had Pyometrea.

I thought it was all over. I was getting better. Then I got a really bad ear infection. Or so everyone thought. I stayed at Dr. Reed's office for almost a week. I got sicker and sicker. I lost one of my babies as well. They said she had Distemper. She had a high fever and was having seizures. There was nothing I could do. I was not even able to walk. My mom had me at the vet several times and was force-feeding me and SubQ fluids to try to keep me from getting dehydrated. She would even carry me outside and help me potty as I was not able to do it myself. My mom knew I had Distemper as well and was doing everything she could to save me.

It was not meant to be. I was just getting worse. I was released from my suffering on Thanksgiving Day. I am now rejoined with my daughter, Dutchess, who passed away just days before I did, and now little Dukie who came the day after me.

PRINCESS
(Indiana)

Princess is a beautiful 2 year old female WGSD. She is heartworm positive and is undergoing treatment. Princess is an absolute sweetheart. She loves to be cuddled. She is good with most dogs and is good with some cats. She is great with children and adults alike. She weighs 66 lbs but could stand to gain a few more.

Princess knows sit, down, and walks nicely on a leash (most of the time). She doesn't like to play fetch but loves to play with her stuffed toys. Princess is able to jump a 4 foot fence and it would be best for her to go to a home with a 5 or 6 foot fence or someone who is willing to go outside with her everytime she goes out. Will you be Princess's forever home?

KUTYA & MISTY
(Ohio)

These poor babies have lived their entire lives outside chained to the side of a barn. Under the pretences to ward off theives with their size. In spite of everything they have been through, they absolutely adore people, but have never had anyone except each other to love.

Tank (below) and Kutya are a product of one of Misty's litters out there. As a result of no vet care, tied up all year round in the heat, cold, etc... . In addition to that, Tank and Kutya both suffer from seizures. Different rescues were contacted about these dogs and wouldn't take them due to the financial strain and their age. Kutya is 5 years old and Misty is 6 years old. They still have lots of years left to live a better life.

They are now getting a second chance with EDWSR. Won't you please help these sweet babies get all the medical care they need, so they can live the rest of their life, the way they should have lived the first part of their life? Kutya and Misty are both heartworm positive.

Sponsor these dogs! Send a donation for their medical care! They are both heartworm positive and need treatment ASAP!

CARLIE
(South Carolina)

It is with a heavy heart that we must say goodbye to Carlie. She died peacefully in her sleep this morning from congestive heart failure. Carlie was our first Echo foster. She's been with us ever since she came to our house last January. It was our great fortune that Carlie's beauty could not be seen in her size or shape. For if she had been youthful and beautiful someone would have surely adopted her. Instead she remained with us and brought such great joy to our lives that they will never be the same. She was my first senior foster. I have never felt so rewarded than through this experience. She came to us very sick and in poor health, suffering from a past of neglect from her former family. She survived and triumphed every illness that came her way, including cancer. She thrived through the love and attention she got from all my family members, especially my niece Amber, who became her "girl". She and Amber became inseparable and their love for each other was evident.

If you would like to make a donation in Carlie's memory, please do. She had about $650 in vet bills.
Thank you.

In Loving Memory

When Amber looked at Carlie she saw Carlie's joyful and fun-loving spirit and her gentle kindness. She did not see her aging outward appearance. November is adopt a senior month and I encourage everyone who has never done so to adopt a senior. This has been the most rewarding experience my family has ever had. We will truly miss this exceptional lady.

LITTLE HARLEY
(Tennessee)

Little Harley is a six month old WGS rescued from a local kill shelter. He is very active, smart and loyal. He gets along with his foster brother and sister and barks insanely at the cats. He hasn't tried to attack them he just stands there and barks at them. He loves to come up to you while you're sitting on the couch and push you're legs up so he can have your legs laying on him.

He just loves attention. He's really funny to have around and watch. It's like he's amazed at everything. His facial expressions are the cutest. Upon rescue Little Harley had a dislocated hip. He has had this repaired and is certainly not letting it slow him down.

If you are interested in his adoption please contact lisajmcvety@aol.com for more information.

Please help us recoup the costs for Little Harley's surgery.
